Art Challenge Day 6: Multiples of Three

So today was multiples of three. I chose to do this drawing of my nail polish bottles with colored pencils. Like pastels, I found they are fairly easy to blend - that is, if you have really good pencils! My favorite brand is Prismacolor. They have great saturation of color without being too waxy like most bargain brand pencils. (Don't even get me started on RoseArt!)

Anyway, you may be wondering why 'multiples of three?' Well, there is a rule of composition that suggests having odd numbered items in a composition is much more visually pleasing and interesting than even numbered objects. For a better explanation of the 'rule' here is an article written by Marion Boddy-Evans about both the Rule of Odds, as well as another composition rule - the Rule of Thirds. Check it out!
